All About Me
I am an upbeat, energetic and dedicated qualified teacher. Aside from teaching, I enjoy walking, swimming, dog agility and cooking. My priorities when working with a learner are to ensure they gain confidence, independence and a deep understanding of the skills and knowledge that they require in line with the current National Curriculum. Having gained a PGCE in 2013, I was a full-time class teacher for 5 years before becoming a supply teacher and private tutor in 2018. I bring a depth of professional experience and knowledge whatever the need. Whether your child needs an extra level of challenge or would benefit from a little extra support and encouragement, get in touch to see how I can help. I offer online tuition to all or face-face tuition in the Weymouth/Portland area.

A Boost for Success
Not all children naturally show an enjoyment for learning and a lack of self-confidence and belief can be a huge contributor to this. A little extra help can have a wonderful impact on a student's outlook on learning. By using positivity, breaking learning into a sequence of bitesize chunks and focussing in on particular areas of need, a massive difference can soon be made. I also have experience of supporting learners with additional needs including ASD, ADHD and Dyslexia

Personal achievements depend on the starting point and for students who already have a flair for a particular subject, they can easily become bored without being provided with suitable challenges. By digging deep into a broad range of concepts, a child's learning will rocket. Their education also becomes all the more purposeful and will increasingly enable them to apply their growing skill set to real-life situations.
Test Preparation
Customised Lessons to Fit
Children are faced with a number of tests throughout their primary education including the phonics check, KS1 and 2 SATs and the Y4 multiplication check. As an experienced Tutor, I can identify students’ problem areas and work with them in positive, constructive ways to achieve success. I design my lessons according to my students’ needs, with an emphasis on confidence-boosting activities.
